I totally understand what he meant, though: I get nervous going on coasters myself. Of course, the pre-roller coaster nerves are kind of part of the fun.

My trick was that I started on smaller coasters. You might think it's a little embarrassing to be the only fifteen-year-old on the kiddie coaster at Santa's Playland ... and OK, you'd be right. Baby steps, though, right?

Given my druthers, I'd pick a water slide over a roller coaster any day. It takes all the annoyance out of waiting in line on a hot day.
